Um, what's a "department store nurse?"
"Nurse Ames, we have a man down in the shoe department. Repeat, man down in shoes!"
Another week gone and I have been sorting through my resume and thinking about jobs. At graduation there is a mad rush at the hospitals for new grads that have yet to land something, so many students in their last semester try to secure something early. I am thinking about starting to talk to some hospitals about where I want to be in 5 months. Have a couple leads on things that may pan out...
Six weeks left of vacation and I want to start looking at more NCLEX questions. That's my goal for this week--and to get some scrapbooking done. Oh wait, that isn't school related. But I did find a new scrapbook store which is the BEST EVER and I MUST take a class there before school starts again. I'm getting ideas for Christmas presents and trying to buy a couple things because I will be SLAMMED in December. Wish I had more time to craft-knit, make cards, blah blah. I just don't. Will I ever?
We are off to the Carolinas on a family vacay in 3 weeks. That will be wonderful.
The BIG student council meeting is this week and hope all goes well. We have been planning graduation and it has been somewhat of a nightmare. Our school is extremely disorganized and constantly changing things. We pay for and plan our ENTIRE graduation, yet they want to dictate the whole thing to us. Must be a community college thing?
Anyway, this semester should be fun/torture/hell/evil/great. It starts with checking off on a random skill pulled out of a hat, a verbalized patho done the same way, and a written care plan on the patho. We get two chances to complete the sequence--or we fail, as usual. I have started looking at my skills...and I feel like I know NOTHING. Have a friend who works as an ER Tech and she keeps begging me to come work w/ her--she has the nurse manager in on it and now I am contemplating the ER...I think it would be a great help in the skills area and my comfort level. Also, this semester is going to be hell anyway, so why not just sacrafice every bit of sanity and pick up a PRN job? If it will help me next spring as I transition from GN to RN, then maybe its a good idea?
Hm.
(No more pink-YEA! And I added some definitions to the sidebar for fun.)

I have a bunch of Cherry Ames books, they are so cute. And I love, love, LOVE old books.
Annnnnnnnd, I'm sure there is a lot of serious foot fungus going on there at the shoe dept!
