Got an 84% on my exam today in peds--we were tested on stuff the proff. never lectured about--in DEPTH immunization scheduling, etc. 15 questions on immunizations? HUH? And then all this other crap on measles, mumps and rubella.
I spent a million hours studying all these stupid congenital heart defects, meds, nursing interventions, etc etc and I got questions like, "Your patient has a strawberry colored tongue. What will you tell his mother?" I didn't have ONE question on musculoskeletal or traction and yet I read 100 pages over it and studied my butt off for that particular subject. I am really ANGRY.
Uh. ok. I should be happy I passed because the class did VERY badly as a whole.
Dude.

So, what's the right answer? "Tell the child's mother not to let him suck on red markers anymore?"
We have our first Peds exam next week and it's gonna suck, I already know.
Chin up. You did fine.
Ugh.. I remember that feeling while I was in nursing school. I also did well on tests but was often frustrated when teachers pushed things and there was nothing on them on the exam OR the opposite.. it wasn't mentioned and there were multiple questions. I would LOVE to tell you it gets better, but it doesn't :) Get through nursing school and there will still be things wordly poorly or orders written improperly and you have to clarify or get verification.
I hated the immunization stuff!!! Um.. isn't there like a chart for those that will be post on the wall? haha.
